Please read these terms carefully before using the Health Claim Checker. By accessing or using it, you agree to be bound by them.

1. About the Health Claim Checker and who operates it

The Health Claim Checker is a web-based evidence evaluation tool that assesses health claims against publicly available scientific literature. It is a feature of YourSpace Wellbeing, operated by HerSpace London, a company registered in England and Wales. It was previously published as a standalone product under the name CITE.

The Health Claim Checker uses the Anthropic API for evidence analysis and Tavily for live research retrieval. Claims you submit are processed by both services. The tool is designed to support public health literacy by making evidence evaluation accessible to non-specialists.

2. What it is, and what it is not

The Health Claim Checker evaluates discrete health claims using AI-powered analysis and live evidence retrieval. It returns a structured verdict indicating whether a claim is supported, inconclusive, or unsupported based on publicly accessible scientific literature at the time of query. Outputs include a summary verdict (always free) and, for paying users, a detailed analysis with evidence links, nuance, and contextual commentary.

Outputs are generated autonomously by AI and are not edited, filtered, or influenced by HerSpace London, its founder, or any commercial partner. No individual, brand, or organisation, including HerSpace London, has the ability to alter, suppress, or direct verdicts. We do not accept payment or other consideration in exchange for favourable verdicts.

Important limitations:

This tool does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations
Verdicts reflect the balance of publicly accessible evidence at the time of query, scientific understanding evolves
It performs best on discrete, testable claims. It is less suited to highly contextual clinical questions involving individual patient factors
It does not have access to unpublished, proprietary, or paywalled research
AI models can make errors. Outputs should be treated as a well-informed starting point, not a definitive determination

Not medical advice. Nothing produced by the Health Claim Checker constitutes medical advice. Do not make health, treatment, or medication decisions based solely on its outputs. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for personal medical guidance.

3. Access, pricing, and payment

Free tier. The summary verdict for each claim, including the traffic light rating (Green / Amber / Red) and a brief explanatory statement, is always free and available to all users without registration.

Deep Dive (paid tier). The full detailed analysis, including evidence links, scientific nuance, and contextual commentary, requires a one-off per-search payment:

Early Access: £1.50 per deep dive search (first 1,000 searches only)
Standard pricing: £2.50 per deep dive search (from search 1,001 onwards)
YourSpace All Access members receive 5 deep dive searches free each month

Prices are shown inclusive of any applicable taxes. Pricing is subject to change with notice via the YourSpace website.

Payment. Payments are processed securely by Stripe, Inc. We do not store or handle your payment card details. By making a payment, you also agree to Stripe's terms and conditions. Payment is charged at the point of purchase on a per-search basis. All sales are final; refunds are not available for completed deep dive searches, except where required by applicable law.

4. Acceptable use

By using the Health Claim Checker, you agree not to:

Use it for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract its outputs or data
Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit its outputs without prior written permission from HerSpace London
Submit content that is defamatory, offensive, or designed to manipulate or game the system
Attempt to circumvent the paywall or access paid features without payment

This tool is intended for personal use, journalism, health communications, and education. Commercial use at scale requires a separate licensing agreement. Please contact [email protected] to discuss.

5. Intellectual property

The Health Claim Checker, including its name, branding, methodology, prompting architecture, and user interface, is the intellectual property of HerSpace London. All rights are reserved.

Individual outputs are generated by AI and may be used for personal, non-commercial reference. Users may export and share the official PDF report in its original, unaltered form, including for the purpose of substantiating health claims in their own content, provided the Health Claim Checker is clearly attributed. The PDF may not be edited, cropped, or reproduced in a way that removes or obscures its branding or attribution. Reproduction of deep dive outputs in any other format, or at scale for commercial purposes, requires prior written permission from HerSpace London.

6. Privacy and data

Your use of the Health Claim Checker is also governed by our Privacy Policy, available on the YourSpace website. In summary:

You are not required to create an account or provide personal information to use the free tier
Payment information is collected and processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details
Health claims you submit are processed by the Claude API (Anthropic) to generate outputs. Please do not submit personally identifiable health information about yourself or others
We may collect anonymised usage data to improve the service

The Health Claim Checker operates in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Health Claim Checker is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HerSpace London makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or fitness for purpose of its outputs.

We do not accept liability for any loss or damage arising from reliance on its outputs, including but not limited to health decisions, financial decisions, or reputational consequences.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. We will post any changes on the YourSpace website with an updated version date. Continued use of the Health Claim Checker after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from your use of the Health Claim Checker shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
